Steve has training in Washington DC for 2 weeks and Eli and I were able to come out and stay with him for 10 days.
We got here Wednesday afternoon, played some frisbee, ate pizza, and played games with some of Steve's friends.
Thursday was Eli's 1st Birthday!! I can hardly believe it has been a year.
We were lazy in the morning just because of the time change. We went to lunch with Steve and then headed downtown to the Mall and Museums.
Eli fell asleep on the metro so I went to the American History Museum then when he woke up we went to the Natural History Museum.

A meteorite that was found in Oakley Idaho. Gr. Gpa Hale said to find it.
Eli's new "cheese" face for the camera
Measuring up to Elephant bones
Getting ready to celebrate with a cupcake
He didn't get into it like we thought he would. He still liked it though.
Some bath-time toys he got for his birthday. He also got a toothbrush that we haven't taken pictures of yet.
CUTE CUTE "cheese" face. See those teeth!
George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, VA
After this Memorial... We walked down King St. in Old Alexandria. We walked 1.5miles to the water front of the Potomac River and then met some friends for dinner.
Saturday we rented a car and drove to Gettysburg. These next pictures are from the Cylcorama.
Very Neat
We then did the Auto Tour. We didn't get out of the car because we wouldn't have been able to get Eli back in the car after each stop. So we took pictures from the car. Beautiful countryside, and amazing history. If only trees could talk... what would they say?
After Gettysburg we drove up to Carlisle, PA to see some friends who are attending Penn State Law. We spent the night there and then went to Hummelstown to visit my cousin and his family. We also drove through Hershey and saw the factories that make chocolate. Sorry no pictures... we forgot because we were busy catching up and enjoying the company.
It was a great weekend... More to come, so stay tuned.
Life is good!
